The California State Fullerton men’s basketball team beat 66-62 Long Beach State on Saturday, winning the first game of the Big West Conference season.
Titan, who scored 17 points in the career of Davon Claire, beat LBSU five times in a row.
LBSU (6-14, 1-3 BWC) topped the list for 27 minutes and CSF (6-13, 1-3 BWC) led only nine, while Titans were in the last four minutes of the win. No team has scored a field goal in the last four minutes of the game.
Fullerton shot 38% (21-55) from the field, 31% (8-26) from distance, and 16-25 (64%) on the line. Long Beach also shot 38% (18-48) from the floor, 35% (6-17) from behind the arch, and 77% (20-26) on the charity stripe.
Claire scored 15 of the 17 points in the second half, and the Titans addressed missing issues from senior Jackson Rowe and Austin Awashika. Claire also contributed seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Low scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Top guard Brandon Kanga has scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, including one to break the deadlock in the game in less than a minute.
Titan played Aggies at the University of California, Davis on Wednesday night. The result was not available for the deadline.

CSUF falls to UC Irvine, 74-61
In a basketball action last Wednesday, the CSUF men’s team lost to UC Irvine 74-61.
Four Titans scored double digits, and Forward Jackson led with 18 points. UCI Collin Welp scored 20 points and accumulated 10 rebounds.
Titan led the anteater 16-15 at the 9:29 mark in the first half, but the anteater closed off the run with a 24-9 run and took the 39-25 lead in the locker room and failed to give.
