Microsoft Flight Simulator
The simulator is an update for Xbox, and it’s due in late August 2020, it does what it says on the box, it’s a flight simulator promising a massive of 4K HDR visuals, featuring everything from light planes to wide-body jets to fly in.
Flight Simulator offers players the freedom to create their flight paths or recreate famous flaying patterns and jet off anywhere in the world, flying day and night against realistic weather conditions. Pilots at flight school use very similar technology for their training, so this is one for all you plane spotters.
Tell me why
Also for Xbox and released at the end of August this year. Designed by the team behind the Life is Strange franchise. This story comes down to another narrative-driven adventure; this game is set in a small town in Alaska and is about two twins who inevitably have a troubled childhood.
Significantly this is the first playable video game hero from a significant games designer and publisher; it is a rich story with an engaging narrative.
From the Marvel franchise and developed by the same team who designed the classic ‘Tomb Raider’ – Crystal Dynamics, it’s a third-person game taking the original film script and moving on to gaming.
Guess what? The games focus is on the period after the Avengers have been disbanded but are now needed to save the world (again). You can take control of this excellent superhero team to save the planet, yawn!
Available in September 2020 with further updates in 2021. As an incentive, if you are to pre-order, you can get access to the beta while you wait for the full launch. I say, why bother?
Mafia: Definitive Edition
Mafia is an old school game, and one of our
back in the day. An action-adventure game just like GTA only set in the world of the mobster.
Now updated with modern graphics, the publishers 2K say “While Mafia II might have just been remastered, this update of the ‘Definitive Edition’ is going to be something special”. We will have to wait and see – available end of September 2020.
As we are talking of GTA what’s happened to the long-awaited update to GTA V?
GTA V – Updated
At a recent event at Sony, some new information has come to light. Franklin, Michael and Trevor will appear in new adventures on the PS5. But when? Why is Sony string this one out?
What we know – the new generation of GTA V will feature a full range of technical improvements, performance enhancements and visual upgrades to take advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more responsive than ever. That could mean anything, and be about any game in the Sony inventory.
There will be a new standalone version of the updated GTA V accessed without downloading the entire game. The good news is this will be available for free but only for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months and with no PS5 release date available what’s the point?
It’s an incentive, that’s true. Additionally, all PSP members on PS4 or PS4 Pro will get GTA$1,000,000 put into their (in-game) Maze Bank account within 72 hours of the initial log-in and then each month they play GTA Online until the launch of GTA Online on PlayStation 5 whenever that may be.
The last game to review is a little less slash and bash and more take to the high seas my hearties.
Blazing Sails: Pirate Battle Royale
No official release date yet, maybe Blazing Sails are also waiting for the release of the PS5. Published by Iceberg Interactive, unfortunately, similar to Sea of Thieves but it’s still a great game.
The concept is a Battle Royale game where you get to create your pirate ship and battle it out on the high seas. Amazing graphics and plenty of ahoy there shipmates to keep you going but no Roger the Cabin Boy sadly, he’s retired by now (lucky him)
We hope you have enjoyed this roundup and you find something to entertain you as the days draw in and 2020 sails off into 2021.
