In the Indian cricket team’s football warm-up session, the captain of Mumbai Indian Premier League fancies himself to be the midfielder. He further said that he is a big fan of France icon and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
Sharma said that Zidane is the real reason he watched football because his skill set is amazing and that is why Real Madrid is his favourite club and Spain in the favourite national team.
For Indian football, Rahul said that it has taken a massive leap due to the improvement in the infrastructure of the Indian Super League.
He also added that Indian cricket needed to develop as well. The situation in1930s is different than what it is now. Indian footballers also have a hunger to excel in what they do. There will be development and everyone has to be patient about it.
MD of La Liga India, Jose Antonio Cachaza said that Sharma is active on many social media platforms and also has a wider fan following. They want him to post about La Liga so that many more fans would follow the League through him.
La Liga also has a broadcast partnership with Facebook which provides 300-plus La Liga games through Facebook. The Premier League is most followed in India along with Bundesliga and Series A who are making an effort to attract a greater Indian audience.
