Less than two months after his new job, UNLV football coach Marcus Arroyo announced his first recruitment class on the first day of Wednesday’s national signing period.
A group of 28 student-athletes has 22 better new employees from schools that have won at least three stars. The previous UNLV record was 12 stars in ink in 2010. In addition, the impressive hall includes both the highest-rated high school player and the highest-rated transfer for choosing the Rebels since the introduction of the star recruitment system decades ago.
Our goal was to improve our overall list in a very short time,” Arroyo said. He also mentions that With about 30 days of calendar recruitment, our staff needs to put together this class, which is a great achievement without sacrificing our core values and characteristics.
We risked not signing anyone in the early days, but I felt that our evaluation process and the staff I had been doing so far could build a solid class in the right way in our own way!
He further said that Our evaluation process is robust and is even more important in making your goals accurate with an abbreviated schedule. When it came to sticking to the plan with character assessment, academics, athletics, hardness, size and growth potential, the staff never trembled.
The group is mainly driven by 23 high school players, three junior college transfers and a four-year TCU transfer couple. The breakdown shows 14 defensive players, 13 offenses, and one special team player (5 LB, 5 DL, 4 DB, 4 OL, 3 WR, 2 QB, 2 RB, 2 TE, 1 P).
Arroyo said that We do this by building a foundation that is configured to last, thereby providing longer growth and development periods.
This class consists of 11 states in California, 3 states in Washington, Texas, Oregon, two states in Louisiana, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Alaska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana, It consists of student-athletes scattered across 12 states and 2 countries in one state in Australia.
UNLV will begin spring practice on March 24. The Rebels’ 2020 season begins with a home game against California on August 29 and will open a new two-billion-dollar Allegiant Stadium.
