Tim Tszyu expects big fight against former champion Jeff Horn
Boxing is a sport full of contradictions.
Former fitness partners become enemies if they have enough money to fight at the table, and long-time enemies can find friendship after finishing their combat career.
Jeff Horn announces Rockdale’s 25-year-old undefeated in a junior round 10 junior middleweight fight against Tim Tszyu 15-0 (12) in Sydney on Tuesday at an official press conference announcing Jeff Horn Is inspired by your opponent’s victory over eight-part world champion Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane in 2017.
I’m ready for this step, the same way Jeff approached the fight against Pacquiao. Everybody was ready no matter what they were saying.
He probably did not expect to fight Pacquiao, but it did, and he succeeded. won. It was an inspiration and gave me the inspiration to take it to the next level.
Horn has been mixed in a ring since winning Pacquiao and a WBO welterweight belt for 51,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium.
His first title defense against Gary Corcoran did not seem impressive. He dropped Terence Crawford’s belt in round nine in the second title defense and exploded the old Anthony Mandine in 96 seconds, splitting the fight against Michael Zerafa.
A 32-year-old former school teacher looked good in the December rematch, but the fight was not without drama. Once again, he faced a problem in the ninth round.
This is the same photo that Zerafa stopped him last August. Pacquiao held everything in the same round two and a half years ago.
Horn says he has learned lessons from ups and downs in the past two years.
To avoid underestimating anyone, I learned the lesson for Zerafa for the first time.
Horn said I wouldn’t do the same for Tim. I know where it is. This is the stage when we fought Pacquiao. I was at that level of hunger and trying to prove everyone who was still talking to myself.
