Team India won against West Indies under Virat Kohli’s captainship, but West Indies bounced back and got a comfortable victory against India in T20I in Thiruvananthapuram.
Lendl Simmons smashed 50 runs with four sixes in a 45-ball knock.
West Indies had won the toss and decided to bowl first. India scored 170 runs. Lendl Simmons, along with Evin Lewis, opened for visitors and scored 73 in their partnership. Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran took the team towards victory.
Virat Kohli took a fantastic catch sending Hetmyer off the field.
Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul performed badly and were out with low runs. Sharma scored 15 runs and Rahul scored 11 runs. Shivam Dube, on the other hand, brought the team back on track with 54 off 30. He also hit four sixes, and three of them were when Pollard was bowling.
The star-batting line up of team India was disappointing. Virat Kohli scored only 19 runs. Rishabh Pant also got 33 out of 22 deliveries.
West Indies won this match, but another deciding match is waiting for them in Mumbai.
Other highlights of the match were the players. Rohit Sharma is close to being the first Indian to hit four hundred sixes in international matches.
The leading score-runner also changed. Rohit held the place for 2562 runs in 95 innings. Now Virat Kohli stands in his place with 2563 runs in 69 innings.
Rohit might also become the batsman with most sixes against an opponent in T20 Internationals after hitting eight more sixes. Kieron Pollard is on his way for the second position for the highest run-getters. He needs 56 more runs.
Currently, this position is held by McCullum. Chris Gayle holds the first position. He is the only one who has scored more than 10000 runs in T20I. Pollard is also up against the most number of catches. He is to catches away from the title.
