Head coach Todd Graham added Dan Phillips as a special team coordinator to the third stage of the football coaching staff, and school officials announced today.
Philips has been training for 26 years at college and secondary levels. For five seasons under Graham, Arizona, Philips served as a special team and senior defense analyst
“Danny Phillips is an experienced person who trains and manages a special team,” Graham said in a press free. Philips changes Michael Gobrial, a special team manager for Rainbow Warriors, and submissive two weeks ago to join a Washington State staff member.
Dan Phillips: Philips has worked with Graham three times, working as a defensive coach in Tulsa from 2003 to 2005, and Graham was a defensive coordinator.
Philips served as coordinator and defensive line coach for a special team that stayed with Rice for a year after Graham. The two later met in Arizona.
Philips played several roles on the campus from 2013 to 2017, including offensive analysts, defensive analysts, and recruitment managers.
Philips recently served as a high school assistant at Bearden High School in Tennessee, and also worked as a “training coordinator” for the Israeli Football League. In a press release, Graham stated: Welcome Philips Coach to the Hawaiian football family. ”
