Roberto Cavalli S.p.a (Italian pronunciation: [roɛbtorto kaallivalli]) is an Italian luxury fashion company initiated by designer Roberto Cavalli in Osmanoro, Florence during 1970s.
Known worldwide for its glamor and animal footprint on leather and textiles, the label is in charge of manufacturing and marketing haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories, including handbags, eyewear, watches, shoes, perfumes, and jewelry. The company also develops interior design projects for high-end buildings and hotels.
In 2015, the Italian investment fund Clessidra SGR acquired a 90 percent stake in Roberto Cavalli to restart the company. The Florentine fashion Maison is now taking in a new direction, led by CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris and a new creative director, Paul Surridge.
Italian fashion group head Roberto Cavalli has announced former Versace chief Gian Giacomo Ferraris as its new CEO executive as it wants to relay under a new owner, Italian private equity Clacidra.
Ferraris, who has also worked for the Italian luxury groups Gucci, Prada, and Jill Sander, has blamed Versace for turning it around. He replaces Renato Semari as chief executive, who is leaving the company due to “differences over the company’s growth strategy.”
“Deep industry knowledge and extensive business experience gained by Gian Giacomo Ferraris will allow Roberto Cavalli to reinforce the process of reliqué at the foundation of the company’s growth plan,” Clesidra said in a statement.
Commenting on her appointment, Ferraris said, “I am happy to team up with Roberto Cavalli, an iconic fashion brand I know and appreciate, who loves celebrities and trends around the world. In line with the shareholders’ mandate, we will begin immediately to define new initiatives for the long-term development of the House. “
Also, current president Francesco Trapani has confirmed that he will leave the Italian label on 10 September.
Italian private equity Clasidra recruited Roberto Cavalli during April 2018 and was trying to reestablish the label, famous for its daring animal prints.
