Lawson’s first-team Preseason Named as ‘All-SEC”

Colombia, s. C. – South Carolina sophomore guard AJ Lawson has been named coach preseason All-SEC First Team, it was announced by the conference on Monday. Lawson is Carolina’s top returning scorer and assistant producer.

Lawson, who earned All-SEC Freshman Team accolades from coaches last March, posted 18 double-figure scoring games last season and had eight games with five or more assists while leading the team in scoring 12 times. Done or shared.

Lawson had six bouts with 20 or more points, including 25 points a season versus Coastal Carolina.

In SEC action, Lawson performed in a number of ceremonies, leading all scorers with 24 points in a road win at Vanderbilt, including a game-winning free throw with less than 30 seconds left.

He went 8-of-12 from the floor, trailing by four 3-pointers, with another 24-point effort over Arkansas at home to Carolina, and tied a season-high six 3 in a comeback home win over Texas A&M.

South Carolina officially began the 2019-20 campaign when it hosts North Alabama on Wednesday evening. Tip time is set at 7 pm.

In the SEC Colonial Life Zone with competition scheduled for broadcast on ET, SEC Network + and Gamecock IMG Sports Network.

The President’s All-SEC First and Second teams of coaches have a minimum of eight players on each team, which is voted on by SEC basketball coaches. No connection was broken and no end was predicted.
