Shoaib Akhtar shared a leaked video of former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, and captioned it “I support the Leaked Video of Wasim Akram, We need a change. #wasimakram #shoaibakhtar”. In the video, Wasim is seen criticizing the affairs of cricket in Pakistan.

Akram said in the video that the same old ways are being followed which has crushed them. There is a need for new methods, to make changes. The thinking needs to change and try out new things. He also said that he has a way of getting out of it. When in turn he was asked what he had in mind, Akram replied that there is time for anything to be revealed.

Shoaib Akhtar also said that there are many who do not want Kaneria to be part of the cricket team of Pakistan. It is because of his Hindu faith. His performance is not given enough credit and constantly criticized by his teammates. There are also some players who would not sit with him for meals.

Kaneria has also come forward and confirmed this story. He said in a statement that his life is not going well and he urged to Prime Minister of Pakistan to take him out of this situation.

In his interview after Akhtar’s interview, Kaneria said that he is grateful that Akhtar came forward and told the truth to everyone. He is also grateful to the players who have supported him wholeheartedly as a cricketer. He also thanked the media, genuine cricket administration and citizens of Pakistan who supported him regardless of his religious interests.

Danish Kaneria has represented Pakistan before in 2000 to 2010 at Test and One Day Internationals. He is the fourth bowler to have taken the most Test wicket for Pakistan. He is following Wasim Akhtar, Waqar Younis, and Imran Khan. Kaneria is the second Hindu and seventh non-muslim to have represented Pakistan in cricket.
