WarGames is well on course to be amongst the most hyped events of 2019-20 in the wrestling circuit.
Fans have a lot of reason to be hyped for this year’s event because it will come up with the first-ever women’s WarGames match-up.
According to CBS Sports, it has also been found out that this debut match of a new genre will star teams led by two of the most dangerous women in all of professional wrestling: NXT women’s champion Shayna Baszler and ex NXT UK women’s champion Rhea Ripley.
While the teams are not yet confirmed for the event — scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 in Chicago — it’s only correct to think the actions on Wednesday night’s event of NXT on USA Network will be actually happening.
Ripley fought head and shoulders along with Candice LeRae, Tegan Nox and Dakota Kai against Baszler and her co-Horsewomen (Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke).
It also had star strength of Bianca Belair and Io Shirai. This essentially means a 5-on-4 match, but a sneak peek was premiered earlier in the event for Mia Yim, who could make it fair between both the sides.
Whatever the final outcome of the teams, the leaders —both are experienced when it comes to history-making events— have made a statement that they are pumped up for the opportunity to grind the teams into the crucial match.
But most importantly, to keep the crown and defend the NXT women’s title, whatever that brings about it.
Just the manner in which NXT has been designed and the crucial aspects placed on the women’s category, as long as the focus is on the NXT women’s title, that title has a good story behind it and an iconic stature as well. As long as everyone does the job of defending that, history will be made.
