The NBA season has begun and we finally have something to look forward to.
It’s been more than four months with the whole landscape of the NBA going through a huge overhaul. But we endured, we lived it through, and basketball is here.
That also means the amongst best pre-match shows in any sport ever is back with TNT’s Inside the NBA taking the broadcast opener to Los Angeles for Tuesday’s Lakers-Clippers game.
And as anticipated, Shaquille O’Neal’s pulling legs with Charles Barkley was in a different form.
Once Barkley tried to take potshots at Shaq about the need to have Kobe and Dwyane Wade to win titles, Shaq went to his go-to return that honestly wins this debate with Barkley every single time.
Shaq boasted to Barkley one of his NBA championship rings and said, “At least I got one of these.” Barkley, obviously, was unlucky to win a title during his NBA career.
Barkley laid the trap and walked right into it like a mouse, and he’ll probably do the same thing a hundred times over this season.
TNT is going to be more fun this year with Dwayne Wade joining the group as well. Doing the part of a Turner Sports role, Wade will be seen as a commentator, coming primarily on TNT’s Tuesday night “Players Only” studio coverage, with Shaquille O’Neal and WNBA star Candace Parker. Wade will also be seen on TNT’s big NBA schedule like the playoffs and All-Star Game.
Wade will additionally be there for the studio engagements at the NCAA Final Four and National Championship, as part of Turner Sports and CBS Sports’ coverage of the event together.
Wade will also be acting as a creative head for projects on Turner’s digital sports outlet according to Bleacher Report.
We are glad basketball is back.
