Anthony Davis has revealed he and LeBron James are “trying to work it out” as he mentioned the areas for improvement after the Lakers endured a defeat to Los Angeles rivals the Clippers in Davis’ debut for LA.
The Clippers emerged victoriously, 112-102, at Staples Center in the opener of this year’s NBA as Kawhi Leonard delivered a masterclass with a game-high 30 points.
Davis did put on a solid display as well — he scored 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in 37-minute game time.
But he also admitted that he is well aware and the team has changes to make before their Friday’s home game against the Jazzy.3
Davis also knows about the fact that it will take a lot of game time for him and for James to build chemistry perfectly in the star-studded Lakers lineup, which also had Danny Green scored 28 points in his first outing for the team.
“For us, we’re both on the aggressive front,” Davis said of playing with James.
“Sometimes we end up not getting each other. I missed him a couple of times and he missed me, so yeah. Eventually, it will work out.”
“We were well aware that we are gonna draw a double team, (so it is about) knowing where the rest of them are. When you have a couple of guys who do the passes it makes it kind of easier but we’re still pretty much in the learning process.
“This match was just a single one out of all these games. We’re all gonna look at the tape and see where we can improve a lot. We have created a few quality plays but the defense we definitely have to fix it and get better at. If we let that happen, we deserve to be on the losing side.” Let’s hope for the best.
