It’s been a big week for the world of professional wrestling, as NXT went head to head with AEW for the first time ever on Wednesday, and former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa return.
NXT is thought of as Triple H’s baby, and even though Triple H has had a long career in the ring he has yet to wrestle a match in NXT.
Last night was NXT’s debut in the USA, even though they had to move to the Network after the first one hour so the USA could air the next to the last episode of Suits.
Despite that, and some problems with Network streaming, it seems like a success. After the show went off the air, Triple H came back out and addressed the live crowd at Full Sail, reminding them that they’re a part of NXT. He even went up into the stands to celebrate with his fans.
We put TripleH in the hot seat and asked him about one simple question…
WWE’s COO and the former champion was speaking to FOX about the company’s future when he was asked who he’d like to step in the ring with.
“It would either be Ciampa or Gargano. Just, Johnny Gargano to me is the Shawn Michaels of the moment in some ways, and that was one of my most favorite opponents to ever step into the ring with. And then Ciampa is — I see a lot of myself there, and
it would be very interesting to step into the ring with him.”
Gargano responded to Triple H’s comments when he posted the following:
and he replied saying that: “That’s quite a compliment, boss! That match has TakeOver written all over it.
How about we split the difference and just give the world #DIY vs DX too while we’re at it. 😎”
