UFC president Dana confirmed that McGregor will not be attending UFC 242 which is happening in Abu Dhabi, for Khabib’s lightweight title against Dustin Poirier.
In the sight of Connor’s dramatic and extra antics, many fighters thought that this infamous fighter will do anything which will come in his power to sit on the cage side for Khabib’s stretch with Dustin Poirier.
This Irishman is still in the leisure pursuit of a rematch since they had a meeting UFC 229, after all, Connor’s biggest rival is none other than Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, it all washed away when Dana confirmed that Connor is not going to make his attendance at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi.
Dana told here talking to the media that he usually talks to Connor twice a month in general. He talked to him in the night and the next morning confirmed that he will not be attending but definitely watching from home.
The boxer’s absent maybe the best thing that has happened to UFC as no one wants to witness what happened when Khabib defeated McGregor in UFC 229 last year.
Being that put on the table, this Irish boxer will be watching the fight from home as he watches all other UFC fights. The last time Notorious was in the cage was that infamous UFC 229 in 2018 and keenly waiting to fight again but the injured hand is what that is keeping him away.
Dana, who is in direct touch with the Irish boxer, has no clue when he will be making his return. UFC will not allow Connor in any lightweight fight until the full recovery of his hand.
White, while talking to the media said, he has no idea about his future plans. All he knows is that it depends totally on how fast his hand recovers, he added.
