Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez, who did not have a time of his liking at Old Trafford, has completed a loan move to Italian giants, Inter Milan, until the end of the season.
The Chilean international landed in Milan on Wednesday where he underwent his medical tests before completing the move. According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United will cover £6m of the 30-year-old’s wage.
Under Antonio Conte’s guidance, if Sanchez gets back to the kind of player he was, Manchester United could demand a bigger fee for the forward when his loan ends as the deal does not include an option to buy.
Sanchez’s form at United has been far below expectations since he arrived at Old Trafford in January 2018 from Arsenal. He has netted only 5 times from in 45 appearances for the Red Devils and has failed to secure regular game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former Arsenal man did not take part in United’s pre-season as he was battling it out at the Copa America in Brazil, for Chile. In the end, Chile and Sanchez finished 4th this time after winning the last two editions beating Argentina on both the occasions.
Sanchez, who has just managed to score 3 times in the Premier League, had more assists than goals at United. It has been quite a tragic journey for Alexis, from being the main man at Arsenal to being just a reserve for United. He was also the Premier League’s highest-paid player.
No United fan could have ever imagined that one of the best buys in the recent history of United would go wrong in such a manner. But the forward would now be hoping to find back his grip under Antonio Conte who had led Chelsea to Premier League glory back in 2016-17 in his first season in charge of the Blues.
