Paris-Rouen Trial the first motorsport event is celebrating the 125th anniversary this year. Thus, to celebrate the ‘125 years of motorsports’ Mercedes will put some of its legendary cars on display at Pebble Beach in California.
The pebble beach Concours d’elegance is a fantastic car event which attracts thousands of visitors. For this year, the show stealer is a reconstructed version of iconic 1932 Mercedes-Benz SSKL race-winning car which is going to be showcased in the event. The reconstruction is done with utmost authenticity using historical documents and original drawings.
This car is special in all sense. According to facts, Manfred von Brauchitsch drove the Mercedes-Benz SSKL in the competition and won the Avus race with a record-setting average speed of 194.4 km/h for a distance of 200 km.
The look of the car at that time was appealing and unusual which instantly grabbed everyone’s attention. It was designed by aerodynamics expert Reinhard Von Koenig-Fachsenfeld.
It had a trailblazing body which appeared to be a silver arrow.
The reconstructed SSKL is going to be driven for the first time on the road as part of its Tour d’Elegance. Apart from 1932 Mercedes-Benz SSKL, the other cars such as 300 SLR, W154, Sauber C9, and Penske IndyCar will also be featured in the event.
People will get to see a wide variety of Mercedes cars in the Mercedes-Benz Star lounge.
