Earlier Chris Gayle informed that after the 2019 World Cup the home series against England would be his last international match for West Indies. Reports say that later he decided to play ODIs against India and also one of the test matches comes after the ODI series.
Is Gayle All Done with Cricket?
Gayle played his number 300th ODI match, against India last Sunday where he scored 11 runs breaking Brian Lara’s historic 10348 runs. With these 11 runs, Gayle is now at a total of 10353 runs.
After struggling in the first ODI and missing out on the T-20 series, Gayle finally could make two records at once in the second ODI on Sunday. Gayle not only broke Lara’s highest score record but also became the first Caribbean player to play 300 ODI matches.
Gayle has not played a test match after 2014. Fans are worried that the third ODI match of the series may be the last international match for Gayle in the Caribbean at the same venue as he will not be playing the Test Series.
There are no further updates about Chris Gayle’s international career. Fans are eagerly waiting for Gayle to break more records across the globe while he plays his final few international and T-20 matches.
